Avalanche!
"Avalanche!" was my semester final project for Intermediate Object-Oriented Programming in college. My team decided to create a retro-style arcade game as a mobile app. This was quite a unique project as I was tasked with crafting the story, animations, and sound effects, and then with hooking up the animations and SFX to the game's functionality using C#. The basic premise of the game is that you are a skier who is on the run from an oncoming avalanche. Tilt left and right to avoid obstacles like trees and cabins, and don't get consumed by the avalanche! The longer you survive, the more points you gain. It was so fun making the animated gifs in Photoshop's animation tool. I have always been a big fan of arcade-era games, and I used to play with sprite creators online when I was young, so envisioning the motion and shading of this game's sprites came naturally. I haven't had the chance to pursue this more yet in my professional career, but I would jump on the opportunity if it came around!
